Ranchi, November 14: A total of 82 colleges in India are offering 11,000 places for students to pursue a career in hotel management. Students must pass the National Entrance Test – National Board of Hospitality Management and Restaurant Technology Joint Entrance Examination.
In India, there are a total of 22 Central Government University HMIs, 28 State HMIs, 1 PSU HMIs and 31 Private HMIs. The Ranchi SIHM has a total of 127 seats.
Students appearing for the class 12 exam or who have already passed can apply for the HM entrance test. They should have English as one of the languages.
The three-hour computer test can be given in Hindi or English. The test is divided into five sections – English Language, Quantitative Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge and Current Affairs. Apart from the English document, all other sections can also be attempted in Hindi and English.
The 2023 exam will have a total of 200 questions. Each correct question carries four points while each incorrect answer will deduct one point.
The upper age limit for General and OBC applicants is 25, while the upper age limit for ST/SC applicants is 28. Students who have passed the class 12 exam can take the entrance test.
The All India Management Association organizes the undergraduate aptitude test through which applicants can apply for the course at SRM Institute of Hotel Management-Chennai, Goa University, National Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management-Hyderabad, Vidya Jyoti Institute-Raipur, Salgaonkar Institute of International Hospitality Education and Goa College of Hospitality and Culinary.

A candidate can also gain admission into HM colleges across India by taking the International Institute of Hospitality Management e-Hospitality Entrance Examination.
There is ample work space for students who graduate after completing a hotel management course. They can work for public relations, catering, housekeeping, accounting, marketing, recreation, computer applications, financial management, engineering, firefighting, maintenance, and security.
