Exclusive video: Inside London’s stylish Prince Akatoki Hotel in Marylebone


Step into The Prince Akatoki London in Marylebone and you’ll immediately feel a sense of calm and you could be forgiven for thinking you’ve walked into a hotel in Kyoto. James Wilkinson reports from London.

The Prince Akatoki LondonRecently named one of the city’s 21 five-star hotels ranked by Forbes, offers a relaxing and stylish stay in Portman Square, just minutes from Oxford Street, Hyde Park and Paddington Station.

At the property, expect mindful and tranquil five-star Japanese hospitality, from the spacious rooms and suites to the delicious food and drink on offer.

Prince Akatoki’s general manager, Ray Goertz, said the hotel is focused on providing guests with everything they need to wake up feeling refreshed, including graceful, low bed frames supported by a serene fusuma-inspired headboard that rests in light, tranquil, minimalist and meaningful interiors.

As for the food and drink on offer, head to Malt Bar and Lounge, a Japanese-inspired bar that features premium Japanese and international whiskeys, signature cocktails shaken by expert mixologists, and a variety of stocks of Japanese sake.

In addition to its collection of rare and unique whiskeys and sakes, The Malt Lounge and bar also offers afternoon tea experiences and Japanese tea ceremonies.

Then there’s the hotel’s fine-dining restaurant, TOKii, which blends the best of London with international Japanese flavors, described by Goertz as “fine fusion” or fine dining with a twist.
