A San Mateo ballot measure increasing transfer tax rates on property sales over $10 million to boost revenue from infrastructure projects and maintain city services is set to pass in the November election. .

The CC measure would increase existing property transfer taxes by 1% for properties sold or transferred for $10 million or more. The city said it would affect less than 1% of all properties sold or transferred. A property transfer tax is paid when a property is transferred or sold and is split between a buyer and a seller in residential sales.
