The 44-room Combate Beach Resort is located on the coast of the Caribbean Sea.
The small inn Combate Beach Resort has landed the top spot on the list of top-rated hotels in Cabo Rojo, based on customer reviews across multiple platforms, the owners confirmed.
Since January 2022, the hotel has been showing 100% occupancy every weekend and reaching an average occupancy of 78% during the month of July.
The 44-room hotel on the coast of the Caribbean Sea has been one of the most awarded hostels on the island for 11 years and is listed among the top 20 hotels in Puerto Rico on TripAdvisor. About 25% of its customers visit several times a year, the owners said.
So far this year, the property has received 13,000 guests, with positive projections for the fourth quarter, said Xavier A. Ramírez, president of the Small Inns Association and property manager.
“Certainly, on average, these visitors consume more than 80 dollars per day per person and stimulate the economic activity of all the companies, large and small, that make up or support our tourist offer,” Ramírez said.
The hotelier said he has witnessed a significant change in the profile of tourists arriving in El Combate – they stay longer and, in addition to enjoying the attractions and restaurants of Cabo Rojo, they visit the attractions of Yauco, Guanica, Lajas, Sabana Grande, San German, Hormigueros and Mayagüez.
The model “is very positive for the region” and urged mayors and businesspeople to work with the Puerto Rico Tourism Co. to continue improving their attractions, safety and public facilities to encourage visitors to extend their stay in the region.
The Combate Beach Resort has incorporated more than 30 eco-friendly practices, for which it has received recognition as “Green Leader” by TripAdvisor, “Eco-Estancia” by Tourism Co., and “Green Hotel” by Puerto Rico Hotel. & Tourism Association (PRHTA).
