Le Carlin joins the global network of small luxury hotels

The Carlin Boutique Hotel in Queenstown has been welcomed into the Small Luxury Hotels of the World network, just four months after its opening.

Le Carlin, which opened in April, joins a list of 520 hotels worldwide, four of which are based in New Zealand.

“Independent spirit; intuitive personalized service; attention to detail; bespoke experiences – are some of the strong characteristics that define luxury as we know it at SLH, and The Carlin verifies every aspect of it,” said Mark Wong, SLH Senior Vice President for Asia- Peaceful.

“Coupled with its scenic location on one of New Zealand’s most iconic views, The Carlin is well positioned to be the destination of choice for our luxury guests seeking ultimate discretion. We are delighted to welcome The Carlin to our brand portfolio.

The seven-story hotel features a range of suites in one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom configurations with outdoor living space, and its on-site restaurant, Oro, is helmed by acclaimed chefs Thomas Barta, who worked with Gordon Ramsay and Chef Yann Robert.

Carlin developer and majority shareholder Kevin Carlin called it a “major milestone” for the company.

“Being invited and accepted into the Small Luxury Hotels of the World network is an important milestone for The Carlin, especially so soon after opening,” he said.

“SLH opens up opportunities to reach affluent and discerning travelers which is a huge benefit to Queenstown and the New Zealand luxury tourism market.”
